Haggis country.
Need suggestions for a suitable case/psu combo for e6300, x1800xt, 2 gig ram, 1x40gig hd. As cheap as possible and not bothered about looks as it will just be a filler for a new system for the time being.

Cheers,
Kabaala.

All of those PSUs are fully capable of powering the rig your going to be putting in it, it might however me more of an investment to get a more powerfull PSU that can last you several builds.

Well thats the end of this thread. :(

Any of those suggested could 1) cool and 2) power just about any rig you would want to run with a single graphics card.

More than up to the job with cooling aswell. :)

The Antec Sonata II is another one worth considering, however it is an inferior case option to the PC7+ and Lanboy, but offers good value for money with its included PSU.

Cheers guys. The superlanboy and seasonic s12 should do the trick and not bad to have as spares that could be used for something else in the future when i'm done with them.

Not too keen on the sonata, reminds me too much of the horrible slk3000b i used to have (personal opinion of that case of course ;)).

Sorry to hijack this thread, but would the Antec Sonata II power an X1900XT Conroe system too, or would I need something a bit more beefy?

They are right on the edge of what they can take really.

I would say yes, but I would recommend a separate PSU over one for a 1900xt.

Hehe, nice list Khan :p

You've also got the Antec PSU combo's, but personally I'd do what Khan suggested - get something like a LANboy with a Tagan.

Dependant on your budget, ofcourse.

*cough* Get the PC-7 *cough*

I know someone with an OCed conroe system + a 7600gt with an antec 430W in a Sonata case, and he is having problems with stability during games. He suspects its the PSU not being powerful enough, the the OC is (prime) stable the rest of the time.
I beleive the new sonata's come with a 450W, so you might be ok. But like Yewen says it might be cutting it a bit close.
