Hi Forum,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC, as currently I run most games on low/medium with some frame drops from 60 in higher graphical spots like water falls, smoke effects etc.

Could you let me know your thoughts on what would be the best hardware to tackle, bare in mind that I'm not looking for top of the range kit but just the most cost effective for around £500 (can be more than 1 item upgrade!).

Current Spec:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz - Number of Cores 4
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 - 2048 MB
RAM - 8.2 GB
Hard Drive - 500 GB
Mother Board - Gigabyte P55-USB3

THANKS!!

What 600W though :) The power supply market is kinda wild, down the low end.

And yes, cost effective, R9 390 / GTX770, plus a i5 Devil's Canyon, should run around that. Keep in mind £60-70 for a potential PSU upgrade.

Sell your old stuff, should give a nice little return. It's not that bad, so someone could make use of it.

So the following would be a good bet?

Radeon R9 390 @ £250 est.
i5 Devils Canyon @ £190 est.

Will this fit on my existing motherboard?
