Need For Speed 2007

am I the only one who hankers for the days when NFS wasnt all about street racing, under lit neons and generally 'cool'. Also Am I the only one who hates the the way in the new games you have to drive around to find the races.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I prefer not having to drive around looking for a race. I guess its more realistic but does spoil the flow of the game imo

Yeah, NFS 1/2/3 and even porsche challenge were great in my opinion.

They even had cockpit views and the handling was a lot better and a lot less frantic and over the top like the burnout style that they are now. Don't get me wrong burnout should be frantic and over the top thats why people enjoy it however with the need for speed series I look for more..I want the cars to handle realistically and sound amazing. I won't hold my hopes up though.

Because they are making it for lots of platforms aswell (Xbox 360™, PLAYSTATION®3, and Wii™ as well as the PlayStation®2, Nintendo DS™, PSP®, PC and mobile.) I don't think it will look that great on either the PC or PS3 or xbox purley for the fact that they will just be slightly jazzed up versions of the PS2/Wii version with a few less jaggies.....Just like NFS Carbon was :(

I completely agree.

I do enjoy a blast of NFS: Most Wanted on the PC, and been enjoying Carbon on my PS3... but I HATE racing games that force you to go looking for races. I just don't bother. At least with Carbon you can go to the map, and click on the next race, rather than have to find one. That's the way I play it anyway.

Test Drive Unlimited also at least has the option to jump to a location, after you've driven there once.

You could do that with NFS:Underground 2 as well. And NFS:MW never made you look for races. No version of NFS ever has done, AFAIK.

Sorry, I probably wasn't very clear... I wasn't saying that NFS games forced you to do that, I just meant racing games that do in general. I personally really like the NFS range, and hope they never introduce forcing gamers to go looking for races.

I wonder if they still treat the PS2 as the lead development platform due to its installed userbase being the largest. What's the betting this will be more 30fps rubbish like the last two NFS games, for that reason.
