need for speed carbon, demo problems...

Mods feel free to move this thread, thought it might get more attention in here.

Downloaded *** 650 mb file about half an hour ago. Ran the set up, asked me to reboot so i did, installed dirext X and rebooted and then it installed agen and agen and agen, its stuck in this loop, its frustrating cos i just wana play, got the game coming soon, i just wanted a taster, lol

Anyone else had this problem or know how i can solve it?

like i said its a let down. you get 3 races, 1's a normal race, 2's a drift and 3's the new valley thing, when you can fall off the cliffs
 
of course i mean an online store, where else would you get such a thing? and download it at 1.1MB/sec
 
its free and its the weekend, x-factors on TV *shakes head* what else do i have to do, lol. any help to the problem at hand wouldnt go a miss :p
 
well for the 10 or so mins your racing is it really worth it.. mine installed no problem, but like i said a let down
 
ahh rite fair doos, ill re download it and after that if theres no joy ill give up. What do you make of the full version of the game itself?

I hear theres a mode like in BF2 where you can join servers and then race other players online? I take it this will be free? and there will be like style points or sumthing earned from winning such races etc etc?

You wouldnt be able to post a screen dump of the screen where you modify/style your car? just to see what it looks like :)

Full version of the game is excellent.

when your in a race you get the option to go into photo mode. (click for full res)


Doing up your car. there are LOADS of options. you can mould your kit and make things look different e.g.

The grill at the front has gotten larger when you move the slider to 100%

Mine tells me I don't have dx on my system and I need version 0 or later lol.

I had this happen b4 with a nfs game but I can't remember how to fix it.
 
cheers for the screen dumps Steven G, cant wait now. Had no luck with the demo, shall have to w8 for the full version to arrive :(
 
Problem solved...

Right click on the setup exe and select compatibility mode windows 2000. This worked for me and is also what I had to do with a previous nfs game.
