Need For Speed: Pro Street

No, i would not be interested in buying NFS. They are all basically the same each time they releases something new. Gets bored after an hour or so.

Prefere a old nfs style myself i really couldnt care less about street racing anymore. Too overdone. Bring back classic point to point racing through countryside or somit with checkpoints.

Interested, but only if they go back towards the excellent formula they had with NFSU/NFSU2 and away from trash like NFS:MW.

Then again from the videos it looks like this could be a move away from the whole "Streetracer" thing altogether.

I never really got on with any other racing game apart from GT (which is PS only) so the NFS series are my only chance to get my "fix" of cars. :D

Yet another pile of junk being churned out by EA. I fully agree with Skeeter - NFS5 is by far my favourite of the series, and I wish they'd go back to something similar and drop all the street racing crud.

From what I've read so far it seems to be a more realistic racing engine this time over the arcade one in previous NfS games and now also includes damage to cars themselves. They'll also include "pro" racing circuits from the looks of the preview.

I'm not sure if it'll be enough for me to buy it though since I'm a bit fed up with the "catch up" feature in single player.

Actually I only noticed this feature in MW, and it was enough to completely and utterly ruin the game for me.

It was most noticible in NfS:U2 when you had races with very tight corners, the AI cars would smash into you almost at full speed when you slowed down for the corner. You'd spin like crazy but hardly anything would happen to them. The rest of the cars would then do the same thing. This would usually happen on the last corner of the race too. :o

I didn't think it was game-breaking on MW but was still annoying enough that I decided against buying Carbon.

I do like how EA bangs one of these out every year. They seem to add some new features that keep die hard fans and newcomers to the series happy.
Also they seem pretty much bug free and only usuallly need 1 minor patch after the initial release.

Well theyre taking the series in a whole new direction which im liking so i think i will most likely get this. Btw there are a few threads on this already.

I have to admit, the whole street racing thing really has been over-done. I mean, how many games have we seen so far that have been based around the street racing world? But then again, I guess Grand Trourismo is more point to point and proper racing.

Gran Turismo 3 ***!!, Grant Turismo 4 was boring, I think that there the best racing games ever, I really liked NFSU2 and MW, but Carbon was abit crap, surely they ran out of stuff for street racing games now and should move onto something new because Pro Street is proberbly going to be the same stuff as the previous tbh.

have you not seen the previews? Its moving away from street racing like previous iterations. Players will race on real world circuits and its going more simulation whilst still retaining modding etc. Graphics look photorealistic so thats one checkbox ticked.

Really? I never noticed it at all in NFSU2, as far as I could see, it was something they didn't implement until MW. However, for me it was game-breaking as far as MW was concerned. I'd spend loads of money tuning a car up, then get beaten by a stock car of the same model. Ridiculous tripe.

It's also in Carbon to some degree, I started with the "muscle" class, but all i've done is made the game un-completable, as where i'm sliding all over the track, the AI muscle cars stick to the road like glue.

And as for that "wingman" thing, well what a waste of time. All they do is hinder me, and pretty much nothing else.

Actually Gran Turismo 2 F-T-W. :) It was at that point it started to go totally downhill.
