Last night saw the release of EA's upcoming Need For Speed ProStreet Demo finally hitting the PlayStation Network Store to which i downloaded this morning.

I was shocked to find that the Demo was very poor compared to the Xbox 360's Demo Version to say the least.

Not sure all of you experienced the same problems? may of been me, but on the Speed Challenge, where was the Smoke coming of the tires of the BMW? Yet the Grip Challenge did have partial smoke effects.

I've compared both demos and the Xbox 360 version seems to be a decent demo release while the PS3 demo seems unfinished and rushed out while to be honest the PS3 version does look better.

I'm hoping that this is not what we are expecting in the final release and hopefully this was a bad demo release due to pressure coming from Sony's end to release it now while the demo was unfinished.

Any of you guys have the same problems? If so share you views here as i'm very concerned about purchasing this for the PS3.

At the start when you rev the engine on the speed challenge, push the right analog stick up to engage first...should start to do a burnout with smoke??

I've also got the demo on the PC and the PS3 version is exactly the same. the only shame with the PS3 demo is the low res, im guessing because its demo and is only 720p. I presume the full game will be 1080!??

Didn't think of that to be honest.

I did notice that the Xbox 360 version did this instantly though and the smoke was almost perfect, but it seems the visuals for the PS3 Demo Version has been toned down a lot, maybe due to pressure from Sony to release it quickly maybe.

Hopefully like you said the full game will feature the full experience. I am looking forward to ProStreet as i've been following it since it was announced and i'd hate to be disappointed by EA again.

EA are thick and can't seem to release anything decent on the PS3, they haven't thus far to my knowledge anyway.

If it has the EA logo on the box, and you have a 360 and a PS3, get the 360 version.

PC version was the same

Pro Street will nose dive, people slated Carbon for being a poor follow up to Most Wanted, but even those that like carbon have said pro street is a turn in the wrong direction (myself included)

i hate the "grip" race thing the most. its just normal racing but something explaining what the racing line is for stupid americans who dont know what a corner is.

I dont think i will be buying Pro Street anymore. I loved every other need for speed game that was released. However reading that its all going to take place on closed circuits and no police. I just dont think for me thats its going to be any fun!

Im doubting whether to get this or not for the PS3. Not played on the Demo yet but I guess it wold be worth giving that a shot first before getting the game.

I tried the PS3 demo and hated it, the framerate feels strange, graphics not that good and for some reason the brake assist seemd to work even though it was disabled.

Don't want to start a 30/60fps debate, but I find all driving games that only run at 30fps instantly unplayable. It's a shame that most driving games on the 'next gen' systems have succumbed to this framerate.

Hats off to Burnout, Forza, and the good ol' Ridge Racer series.. Roll on GT5

I agree, although I did enjoy DiRT a lot even though that is 30fps as well, with NFS ProStreet it just felt like the framerate was less stable than DiRT.

other thing with dirt is, its a rally game so you rarely go at 150mph

you spend most of your time racing in the mud so dont notice it. You have the odd race like the hillclimb races where you get up to high speed

but the fact you spend a lot of your time at less than 100 means it doesnt feel as slow.

Got this the other day.

Got a question, in the career mode, why cant you see blue prints of the cars that are in your garage by default? Cant see the details on each of the 3 cars that I have.
