need for speed rivals question

can't find a thread on this game.
just got it - its 'ok' but the 30fps cap is stupid.
now, there is a fix but when i use this i often get 'race abandoned' messages when playing.
i think upping the limit to 60fps is causing this?
and is there a fix?
i'm assuming not :(
 
If I remember rightly they linked the physics and everything to the frame rate, so if you upped the frame cap then the game ran at a faster speed and messed the physics up, so there is a very good chance thats whats causing your issues.

Looks like poorly a coded game so there might not be a fix, I'm sure TotalBiscuit did a review video slating the same issues.
 
Think the 60FPS fix uses a modded file thats why it disconnects as this game has a constant online social gaming aspect requiring an up to date exe thats fully patched at all times.
 
the 60fps is only a commandline after the shortcut - but i think it is whats causing the problem.
everything seems fine at 30fps but at 60fps certain races seem to have problems - the game runs at normal speed ( -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60 = this is the commandline) but its certainly its certainly doing something dodgy to the game.

oh well - i was given it so i didn't pay anything - crappy ea and their crappy ports!
