Need for Speed: Shift 2: Unleashed

they are alright, shift 2 is not without its flaws, but its certainly not the end of times' as everyone makes out

I've installed the patch & the game certainly feels different but my exe still says 1.0.0.0... Is there a way I can tell if I've installed the patch correctly? - I'm using the EADM.

What utter nonsense.

I song I heard on the radio I thought was rubbish, but my opinion doesn't count because I didn't pay for it?

I watched a film on TV and thought it was rubbish, but my opinion doesn't count because I didn't pay for it?

I ate a meal that someone else paid for and thought it was rubbish, but my opinion doesn't count because I didn't pay for it?

I drove a friend's car and thought it was rubbish, but my opinion doesn't count because I didn't pay for it?

I played the demo of NFS Shift 2 and thought it was rubbish, but my opinion doesn't count because I didn't pay for it?
 
there is no demo of shift 2 so you must have obtained the game illegally if you have played it.

GTFO pirate perma ban tbh , the only people who seem to hate the game are the ones who havent actually bought it or played the game for more than 5 minutes, also the handling has been improved upon since the last patch which means even if there was a "demo" it doesnt give an accurate impression of how the game is in its current state

mind your own business tbh :) really whats the point of all this? you buy games buy them.. some people test them before deciding its worth buying or not.. since its pretty much unsellable on PC.. don't see why it matters so much to you?

Don't you see the points I am making here?

1)You don't need to buy something in order to have a valid opinion.

2)If developers/publishers produced quality games that actually worked properly and gave potential customers a chance to try before they buy then they maybe they'd have something to complain about when it came to piracy.

You accused me of not buying the game, without any evidence at all.

It doesn't quite work like that. If there is no demo of Shift 2 then it's pirated - the link where the devs were chatting about the game etc, they highlighted a couple of instances which users were experiencing issues and they knew must be pre release builds. So although it doesn't stop anyone having an opinion it maybe incorrect.

i tried it on a logitech wheel at work and found it easier to hold drifts.
this is with default configs, i fail to see why all wheel owners are crying a river over the controls on this game, it is perfectly acceptable for what it is.

If its so easy why were you posting videos of drifting with a joypad, I have tried with a joypad and its a easy, the car countersteers automatically when using a joypad, But as others have mentioned it is quite the opposite with the wheel. Making the wheel rotation lower helps a bit but there is something still not right.

i dont have a wheel at home, but as i mentioned before i can pretty much do the same with a wheel without changing anything from default config. you just cant correct yourself as easily.
it is a little more challenging admittedly.
as i mentioned previously, you have to throw the wheel around a lot but it isnt that difficult.
like arknor said above, it just takes a bit of time to learn. once you get used to the physics of it, its pretty straigh forward.
I'm personally hoping for some additional content with more tracks for drift

if anything, it is more realistic with a wheel as you cant change directions of the front wheels so quickly. it does make it a lot easier to hold long drifts in my opinion as there is much more ability to hold the front wheels in one position whereas with a pad it is difficult not to flick the control sticks around.

Its defiantly more realistic with a wheel, I doubt I would have the skill to drift cars with this sort of power in real life so if that's how you wanna measure is then its pretty accurate!

They have just cheating when using the joypad as the computer pretty much drives the car for you.
 
Blimey, this thread is getting a bit hot! :-)

I absolutely love Shift 2 and personally find it substantially more fun that the first shift. As we know, its by no means perfect but its incredibly playable & I haven't even spent time with setting up my DFGT wheel or indeed the cars themselves.

I've played most the of NFS titles since the first NFS Hot Pursuit and this is my favourite so far.
