I got it for a fiver using the Coke Zone codes, and some trickery 
To be honest, it's not great at the moment. They really needed to add more content in, because as it stands there are far too few cars to buy.
The official NFS podcast mentioned adding new cars etc as time goes on, and even adding in some sort of new game mode

I participated in the beta and the head-start events, but all in all it felt very, very bland. You don't get anywhere near enough rep & cash from races, but pursuits give out a fair amount
