Hi all,

My new PC's getting delivered at the start of next week but BC2's not out until Friday so.... I'm looking to order a game that I can boot up on day one and grin like an idiot and not feel bad for splashing out £900 on a PC with OK gaming capabilities (when I could have spent £600 on one that would have done for work).

My initial thoughts where one of:
Fallout 3,
Mass Effect 2,
AVP,
Dragon Age

The new PC is a Phenom 2 x4 955 BE, ATi 5850, 4GB Ram; so any thing that will make that seem worth the money and keep me occupied until my copy of BC2 arrives :)

Cheers.

Crysis is probably the only game if you really want to show off your PC.

Though I much prefer Fallout 3 - the post apocalyptic World is superb.

GTA4 is quite demanding (and a good game) and can be made to look a lot better with mods.

Crysis/Warhead looks the nuts when maxed too

Thanks guys 2 Q's:

1) Will I be able to max out Crysis:Warhead with my rig on a 24" screen (I REALLY hope so :)
2) I read the reviews on Amazon and apparently it comes with insane levels of DRM... has that been patched to be less intrusive since release? and is it as bad as people are making out? (e.g Plugging in external drives can trigger one of your, limited, activations :/ )

For something very pretty but also fun to play I recommend Dirt2. But Crysis is the benchmark of games though

What resolution? Probably though..

Not as bad as people make out. Yes, it'll install software at the core of your windows install, which contacts EA to activate and verify the product. This is what people with any bit of common sense are actually worried about.
The 5 activation limit isnt actually a problem, as EA have released deactivators for most of their games (including Warhead) so you can retain your activation after you uninstall :) (link here)

OH and get Crysis! Not Warhead! (both actually if you can :p). The modifications look so much better due to ToD ;)

I'm not into WW2 or Planes... But I just watched wings of pray teaser on Gametrailers and it looked bloomin amazing!

Shattered Horizons also looked immense... but is it multiplayer only? Do many people play it?

Shattered Horizons is multiplayer only.

Seems to have a a reasonable following..Steam recently had a free weekend going, so I imagine that'll have boosted sales a bit.
