Need guts for my case

I will be getting the antec mini P180 and need to find a micro atx mobo and some ram that will last me a few years before it needs upgrading, so any suggestions? I won't be getting a graphics card (yet) as i'm still a console gamer.
Also I was thinking whether it would be worth getting 2 HDD's?
1 internal one for the OS and an external for pictures/videos, are external HDD's any different to internal?
And one last thing to bug you, for someone who only uses his disk drive to install the occassional bit of software would getting an external drive be a better option as it would free up more space inside?

Few questions that will help us.

Sounds like you've got a CPU already, which one?
What will you be using the PC for?
What kind of HDD capacity do you need?
What sort of budget do you have?

I was going to get this CPU http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-265-AM
but would be willing to change it.
I will be using the pc for web browsing, photoshop, video editing, downloading etc...
I was thinking of getting one just big enough to fit the OS on and then getting a 500gb one for my movies/music/pictures
I don't really have a budget in mind but i don't need high end stuff just something decent!

do you only need the mobo and ram?
ill give this a shot but im sure someone with better experience will come and suggest a better build

just looking for mobo and ram, although i would consider changing cpu's if someone can find a better one for a similar price to the one i linked.
And of course some help with the other questions i asked.

you could always try unlocking the 3rd and 4th core if the mobo you pick has the ability to.
