need hel with pc

Hi all i need your help.Ive just put a 2nd hand hard drive i my old pc as it failed and i lost everything.

Im trying to put win7 on it.

It starts to post then comes up with this

CDBOOT cannot boot from cd Code 5

NTLDR is missing

Press ctrl -alt delete to restart.

Could it be a bad disc that win 7 is on.
Any ideas
The cpu is an athlon 64 3000+ 1 gig of ram and 256 mb gfx card

Any ideas or help will be apreciated.

Ive checked in the bios
In the standard CMOS settings i have this
Primary IDE master WDC wd400eb-11f (thats the HDD)
Primary IDE slave Not installed
Secondary IDE Master dvd RW
Secondary IDE slave dvd-rom

Then in the advance BIOS settings and boot sequence i have

1st DVD rom
2nd DVD rw
3rd wdc wd 400eb-11cpf0

Could it be the install disc?

has this hdd ever booted another os before?
