Hi,

I have purchased an AirPort Express to stream music from my iTunes library to my AV Receiver and then out to the Zone 2 speakers in the garden.

I plan on controlling this using the iTunes remote on my iPad or copying the playlists I want to the iPad and just using that and the AirPort Express.

The AV Receiver is in the lounge along with the HTPC which has an ethernet connection running up through the waste pipe housing into the loft where my main switch, NAS and ADSL router live.

Question,

Can I configure the AirPort Express to connect to the existing WiFi network to connect to the iTunes Library on the NAS?

Or do I need to either: -
  • Connect the AirPort Express to the switch via another CAT cable and then either use that as the wireless
  • Or just connect the amp and use the existing wireless

Not really fussed about the two options above as they will both require another CAT cable to be run from the loft.

I could have course add another small switch in the living room but I don't really want to spend anymore money or have another electrical unit in the lounge.

Thanks in advance.
