Since Yesterday I have been getting a full hard lock when I play any games, I might get 30 mins one time then I get less than 2 mins the next time. all i have changed in my system is a new pump/res combo and added the RGB of the res and some new rgb fans, I have never heard of RGB causing hard locks when gaming so don’t think it’s that, at first I thought it was air flow so removed the glass and added a fan blowing onto the MB but am still getting the same problem, I have the latest nvidia driver and don’t think it’s the card as I’m getting no glitches before hand it just hard locks, it also does it after 10 mins of being on so its not a build up of heat over time, this really has me stumped, does anyone have any ideas?

It could be unrelated to your upgrade so basic troubleshooting checking cables etc.

Everything set to stock ?

Would check the memory with memtest.
Done all that mate, it’s doing my nut in at the minute, just been gaming for an hour and nothing then all of a sudden it freezes, so im sure it’s temperature related with my M2s

CAn you monitor m2 temps have you checked windows crash log ?
All the crash log says “ problem with your hardware caused windows to stop working correctly”
Yeah check your temps. Its possible you didnt seat the cooler properly then your CPU is shutting down to do overheat.

Would be the first thing to rule out if not.
Checked all that even though I didn’t touch my cpu during the switch over also the system would turn off due to a cpu overheat, this just hard locks during a game

Is your rgb connector 4pin or 3 pin?
Check the connections again like unplug and reconnect all the cables from psu and mobo, reseat the ram, and maybe the gpu.
Sometimes there's no choice but to go this route. I take it your pump is the same brand as the old one?
One 3 pin one 4 pin, just got another hard lock while playing the new CoD, the M2 heat sink is hot to the touch

What case and case fan setup do you have? Might be as simple as improving airflow over RAM.
I think that is it TBH, it’s an O11 rog but because of the 3080 is so big and the position my res has to go I have to use the middle pcie slot so it’s very close to the bottom rad and fans, so my air flow now probably isn’t the best, I discounted the RAM because I thought it was fine up to 80c but it turns out B-die doesn’t like high temps, I’m now going to play with the voltage to see how low I can go and still keep 3200mhz c14 stable

Do an Aida system stability test and then a GPU stress test.

AIDA needs to run for a while.

GPU you can use 3D mark or furmark. That should point its way to something

If all the above is working have a look at the SSD smart info and see if you can spot something off.
I’m 100% sure it’s the RAM causing the problem so I have ordered a Corsair ram cooler from the rainforest, if that doesn’t work I will order the O11 XL
