Hello to every one.
I realy need help building new tower.

4 Years ago with help of similar forum i build nice pc.

Intel 6600 duo core. Overclocket it to 3,5.
Asus Main board.
Gtx or gts 260 card. etc.

few days ago m8 from my work offered me £300 for my tower. so it is going tomorrow.

Now i have a budged of 500-600 pounds.

I need all tower (no HDD)

My main problem's
Intel Vs AMD can't decide who gives more bang for a buck.

I have no understanding about main boards.

And i was Nvidia guy for 12 years now but i think im after ATI card as i believe it gives more FPS for your money.

PSU is another item i need help with.

4 Gb ram vs 8 Gb?

All help is appreciated. My pc will be used for Gaming only.
I have 32 and 40 Inch TV's both run 1920 vs 1080 or something rez.

I hope this tower will last me 5 years. with minor upgrades.

I read few other pc builds and looks like Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Is a winer.

So AMD doesnt come close?

G card no more that £200 ATI or Nvidia?

Hope to order full tower from overclockers today for Saturday delivery.

Thx to every one who will spend ther time helping me.

*edit*
missed the bit where you said you were mainly doing gaming. the build i went with was made with gaming in mind, so theres no problem there

as for your questions:
intel vs AMD:
- at the low price range, you get far more for your money with AMD. however, if your willing to pay a bit more, intel will relive itsself all over AMD's bonfire

- ATI vs Nvidia: check out this benchmark site: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU11/188
gives you loads of details on the latest graphics cards, and lets you compare them

- PSU: i really cant help you with brands, but use this site for a rough power calculation: http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

- RAM: 4GB is more than enough for gaming. even the top end games cant use all of it yet.

AMD build.

if you plan on upgrading to a crossfire setup later - 2 ATI (not Nvidia) graphics cards working together, then i would suggest the Sapphire Pure CrossFireX 890GX (AM3) Motherboard. it is ~£35 more expensive, but it is the cheapest that does crossfire properly (x8, x8).
do not go for a motherboard that says it does crossfire or SLI at xN, x4 or xN, X1. only go for ones where both of the numbers after the x are 8 or higher

im really not sure about the aftermarket cooler. i highly reccommend one because the standard one on the Phenom 955 is INCREDIBLY loud (i have one myself), but i really dont know which one to go for

not so hot on the intel range, so i will leave that for someone else to look at

You are right to assume that Intels sandybridge offers the best performance compared to anything AMD has to offer.

For a gaming pc as you require, 4GB of RAM is enough.

I was going to recomend combining Stulid and Reapers builds myself, as I see youve already done that, Im assuming you have a spare optical drive as well as HDD? Otherwise add another 12 quid
