hi guys, i was just reading through the mac osx sticky and i decided to download cleardock http://unsanity.com/haxies/cleardock/ it just makes the box around the dock clear

i installed it then restarted and all the files (pics, pdf files. dmg's) on my desktop are gone. i even searched for them in the search bar and they cant be found.

also all the torrents in vuze are gone (but the downloads are still in the save folder)
also when i clicked on firefox, i had to install it.

whats happened? its like a system restore on windows.

how can i fix this?

i am on mac osx 10.4.11

as you can tell i am a switcher ;) but this has me stumped

1. Have a look under /Users/<your username>/Desktop are your files there?
2. Then have a look at the trashcan (assuming you've not emptied it).
3. It may be that you've created a new user account as part of the install process?
4. What does their support line say?

Last thing is - are you using a VM?

i didnt empty trashcan, but its empty.
there is no new user account, but i did find the pics in the pictures folder (i didnt place these ones there)

support line? is the the folder details? if so its users/system/pictures

i have also found the pdf's in documents folder.
i seem to have found the most important files. :)

but i am still confused,

even all my bookmarks are gone from firefox
