Need help ASAP...

Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P motherboard.
Just had a clean install of Windows XP, and it has a yellow question mark in Device Manager next to Unknown Device - Ethernet Controller.
I have installed the LAN Drivers for this motherboard from the Manufacturer's web-site so Network adapters is showing OK, but cannot get it to connect to the internet.

Any help asap would be appreciated because at 2am I dont appreciate getting text messages asking when it will be ready for him to collect!!!

Don't really know what to suggest as the diagnostics for this is going to be loong.
Make sure you've updated to the latest bios.
Once you've installed the ethernet drivers is there still a yellow arrow in device manager?
Is the computer connecting to the network w/ internet not working, or can it not get on the network via ethernet at all?
If the device is detected and installed properly then check (1) cable - swap it for another (2) router - port enabled? (3) internet - other computers working via ethernet?
I'm off to bed now but hopefully someone else can pick up.

Ok which lan drivers did you install? The nvidia ones yeah?
