Wow, never thought I'd say that.

Anyway, it's a samsung B2230H. I have a base and a monitor, but nothing that runs between them.. this is my first monitor in about 5-6(?) years, and my monitor came all fixed up back then. Am I supposed to like, have recieved some form of tube to link the two together, or are they assuming I have it? Is there anywhere I could get said tube?

Would it be a good idea to refund and get the same monitor from a different e-tailor? I ordered this one from some kind of large forest in Brazil..

Is this monitor any good? In terms of reliability and stuff? 'Cause like, missing a part (If indeed I am) is a bit.. :S

I assume it's the same as putting together any other Samsung monitor:

There should be a stand connector, the tube part you're referring to.

If you are indeed missing a part, I'd just email the seller (which may then lead to you to emailling Samsung) to see if you can get the part first as a full refund is a little extreme, not to mention you'd have to pay postage charges to return it.

Samsung monitors are generally regarded as one of the better brands out there, it could just be a simple mistake whereby they've forgotten to include the piece you're missing. This doesn't really affect the quality of the screen itself.

I believe that crazy brazilian forest pays postage for faulty goods when refunding, so I'll go with that..I mean, might just be the cynic inside me, but if that is missing who knows what else happened to the screen :P

Fair enough for the postage.

Not to jinx you or anything, but there is a slim possibility that the replacement screen you get is worse, i.e. has dead pixels or back light bleed. Just a thought :)

While true, it seems after phoning samsung and being redirected to their parts site, the spare stand connector isn't happening. Now I suppose I do HAVE to return. :P

Ah well, just have to wait another week to use my damn PS3 xD
I'll order a HDMI switch and spare cable now though, seeing as I have time..

EDIT: The moral here is that if you open the box and everything inside is russian, there may be something up.

Did you order it from the forest directly or one of the forest merchants? Sounds very interesting - but the forest themselves is usually really good at handling returns so I'd do it. I didn't realise those South Americans spoke Russian ;).

Forest directly. So, should be able to get a refund fairly easily if past experience is anything to go by. I did, however put one manual in the wrong bag when repacking, but I doubt they'll throw a hissy fit.

It basically arrived, I opened the base, monitor and manual, realised I was missing something, sighed and began packing everything up again. :P

I don't think I'll order this specific monitor from the forest again, just to be safe.

A mini-review of the monitor:

Well, it looked nice. Didn't check anything else :P

Sometimes the forest even provides you a replacement fruit before your old 'rotten' fruit has been returned to them. I don't think this applies to expensive monitor fruit (although I've never tried this) but I know that they are not particular at all about the condition of the fruit's packaging. They are certainly on the right side of the fruit law that forest and do put the fruit consumer first. :p

Haha, reading that post is like trying decrypt a WWI cypher :p

Um, you guys think this is an elaborate enough "return detail" for the RMA on the site? I did this yesterday and didn't know WTF the part was called so I put this:

"Upon recieval, the monitor is missing a part that connects the monitor, to the base. So, I cannot actually use the monitor. "

Seems to be alright, but like, you guys have probably returned fruits more often than I.
