need help at a loss

ok so last night my monitor went kinda weird wouldn't switch between pc/ps3 when i pressed the input button HDMI(ps3) would show as a black screen when i turned the pc off the ps3 picture appears.

now i can't understand this cause for the last 2 weeks i've been switching between the two to use strategy guides and the likes so look on pc press input go back to ps3 then go back to pc again. it's not the monitor cause i took it back this morning and changed it over just in case come home and it does the same thing..

only thing thats happened since it started doing this is my 4870 dies and i replaced it with my old ati 2600xt

but surely that couldn't be the cause. Anyone with a similar problem please let me know as the only reason i got this monitor was for the switching and HDMI 1080P input it's a ACER H223HQ

never mind seems to be a problem with the graphics card not allowing in to switch over i used onboard vga and it allowed the switch over fine but soon a i plug it in the 2600xt it stops it from doing it..

my ati 4870 must have allowed me to do it.. Come to think of it is that what HDCP is?
