I am not totally new to printing, started a few months.
Started with a ender 3 pro, usual issues but been great apart from wear and tear.

The problem is the newest printer, ender 3 max. Brought it week ago and had half a good print in that time that snapped during print.

I can not get a print at all. Levelled bed 500 times ( it seems) wasted tons of filament, changed nozzle.

On print does not stick but rather balls up around the nozzle though close to the bed. It is doing my head in enough to want to throw it out of the window.

Also looks sometimes the z on the left ( drive motor side ) is dragging the right a little rather than level lifting.
Please help

What filament are you printing? Did you by chance switch from pla to petg? How do you clean your bed? Any Adhesive? How do you set offset from nozzle to bed? How do you level, what is your practice?

Standard pla eyone 1.75, use it a lot or anycubic 1.75.

I clean the bed with isopropyl alcohol as I use it with my resin printers anyway. I do not use glue or tape no just plain bed.

The offset is 0,0,0 in xyz, same as my ender 3 Pro. Levelling I use the old paper method in front, mid, back in all 3 positions left mid and right. My 3 pro was fine with this method. Could it be the springs ,( yellow) are allowing bed to move?.
Almost threw the thing across the room, getting sick of it.

Ok so first question (as I can't remember the Ender 3 max setup) does it only have the one Z stepper? If so make sure you X gantry is level to the bed.

Next level hot and so that it is very lightly touching the paper. Filament balling around the nozzle is classic to close the bed behaviour.

What temps are you using? Are you letting the bed heat soak for a short while to ensure its at temp? You say you changed nozzle did you do this hot and also hot tighten the new nozzle?

If @bulb66 is right try manually lowering the bed a 1/4 turn at each corner.

I say If because I thought filament balling was a sign the bed was too low. Some quick tests should resolve. Print a thin square at each corner and one in the middle to test the print.

I change the nozzle hot between 200-220 usually.
I honestly have used the paper method too many times to count. I have never had such problem the ender 3 pro took about a hour to get right. This one is a right pain in the F butt.
No matter what I do it wont print right at some points it will go on the bed then get dragged off the bed again somewhere else. Soon it meet the hammer

Ive got so annoyed I added a Bl touch sensor, and would you believe it still is not working. There are no clogs in the tube or nozzle and I just replaced the nozzle again in case. Does the touch actually do anything! Sorry complain a lot stressed with the printers.

Today it has balled up over the nozzle again, seems the rubber end has also snapped at some point. Last night the bl crashed the nozzle into the bed but sorted that. For some reason the UI freezes during print not allowing me to tinker with the settings during print. So far I see little point in the BL because you have to level the bed anyway.

What gcodes are you running for startup to enable levelling etc?

I run the Jyers firmware with UBL on mine, and have a load of commands that load mesh, measure in 3 spots for bed tilt, then adjust... and print.

I'm using the stock 2.2 firmware from creality website because the 2.2.7 seemed to brick my movement so had to downgrade the firmware.
I am still pretty new to printers so knowledge base rather small. I do prefer my resins so much easier but volume always smaller.

I have a print sort of going on the 3 max now, I went with the pritt stick just to test see what happens. It is printing as we speak but I think the auto level is slightly off because I hear crackling when it goes over certain parts of the print.
My ender 3 pro is now being a massive pain. 6 times I have tried to print a model and all 6 it at some point stops actually printing and does not extrude but still keeps going in motion. All 6 times it gets to different stages in height before it does this but does not seem to be a clog in the nozzle as I start a new print and starts but same issue after a while. 3d printers are so annoying, I brought the upgrade hot end for the 3 pro not yet installed. Looks like the same one you get on the 3 max.

Have you tried the Jyers firmware with the BL Touch?

See my earlier posts on this same topic. I still haven't fully resolved mine I'm afraid.

This is a very important suggestion. Create a Mesh and then call the Mesh at start of printing. If you're doing neither G29 or M420 S1 at the start, its likely your not calling the bed level create mesh OR use stored mesh. Here is a copy of my GCODE that has got me closer.

G90
M82
G28
M420 S1
M500

I say closer as I'm still having problems on certain objects, like a WDT tool - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4913033/

Here is my starting G-code (in Cura found under: Settings / Printer / Manage Printers / Machine Settings / 'Printer' tab > Start G-code

These are specific to my machine, running a Jyers UBL 15x15 firmware with a CR CR Touch and a Micro Swiss Direct Drive. The first 5 lines should be useable if you are using Jyers UBL though. You will NEED to have run the levelling mesh on the printer first before using this is your prints.

G28 ; home all axes
M420 S1 ; enable the mesh
G29 L0 ; load mesh
G29 A ; enables UBL
G29 J ; tilt mesh
G1 X20 Y20 Z0.2 F3000 ; get ready to prime
G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance
G1 X160 E15 F600 ; prime nozzle
G1 X180 F5000 ; quick wipe
