Planets order are easy if you make up a story. Mercury, imagine it as a thermometer, really close to the sun, which heats up and like a cartoon, explodes. This glob of mercury flies towards venus, this divine goddess, who catches it, examines it, then tosses it over her shoulder into her back garden; earth. The mercury then hits a rock in this garden which flies and hits Mars, a angry red devilish looking guy, in the face who then gets really angry and starts jumping up and down. Things are about to kick off when this huge giant called jupiter comes striding down the road, wearing a T-shirt with "S.U.N." on it, which stands for saturn Uranus Neptune.

Now everyone who reads this thread will be able to remember the order of planets lol.
What an incredible load of nonsense. I haven't read anything so bloody stupid on OcUK in ages, but it was amusing.

How the hell is that going to be any use?! A simple mnemonic is far easier to remember.

That really is priceless :D.

You are in a bit of a pinch if you dont know that but i have always remembered Monkeys Eat Peanut Butter. After that its easy i have used this all the way from standard grade (GSCE equivalent) to this very day where i had my third year uni organic chemistry exam last week :).

LOL :D

I have some good pneumonics for remembering the whole of the TCA cycle with enzymes! Actually the same applies to b-oxidation, fatty acid biosynthesis and gluconeogenesis!

*sigh*

Not so hard once you have it squared away in your head. I forgot all of the glycolysis pathway! It's simple learning of names to get the mechanisms. It's actually really irritating how little understanding is required.

The skill comes in interlinking these metabolic pathways with diseases and problems that can occur (and interspecies comparisons are always fun).

ah a little bit like a small metal oxide semiconductor field affect transistor uses the ionised particals of the ionosphere to create the neutral singularity of O3 (the ozone layer)
( i thought we were just rambling phrases to sound smart :S)
