Hi, im building my first gaming computer and need some help on which parts to buy. i was thinking of buying this cpu and motherboard Let me know if this is any good.
Im building a midi tower gaming pc http://www.amazon.co.uk/CiT-Tower-P...ectronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363889796&sr=1-2-fkmr0
SO i wish to play games on high to max settings at decent fps and no lag/ next 2 no lag. Games i play: Dayz(arma2 mod), world of warcraft, counter strike soure, league of legends diablo 2 and 3, darksiders 1 and 2, natural selectio 2 etc.

but i only have a budget of £50 - £60 maybe a bit more so could u please help me by reccomending a graphics card that will allow me to play these games on high settings between the stated price range.

so to finish is the cpu and motherboard good for gaming and please reccommend graphics cards. (the gpu i was thinking of buying http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Radeon...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363890156&sr=1-1) thank you 4 any answers and sry for the long post

£50-60 does not buy you anything that will play ARMA2, WoW or Diablo 3 at any kind of playable frames at anywhere NEAR max settings.

Your linking is likely going to attract moderation attention as you are linking parts that OcUK have an interest in.

Agreed, you won't get a GPU on that budget that can play games at max settings.

Second hand best your looking is a 460 / 6850. Maybe a 6870 if your lucky.

Take a look here:

Also linking to competitors is against forum rules, please read them before posting again.

Also Im guessing because your on a budget you have a unbranded crap PSU?

High to max settings for £60.

Get an AMD 5400k/ A55 motherboard from OcUK, that will free up another £60 which will allow for a 7850 within your budget.

Also get a different case, the CIT will be bloody awful. The Xigmateks on here for £30ish are good.

i said 50-60 maybe more i can upgrade it in time but i just need something that can run it in decent settings until i can get an updated version and Raikiri ive already purchased the cit.
and bacon i have not yet brought a psu im building from scratch so far ive only got the case which is linked. so im asking 4 help 2 build my computer as im new to the aspect of it. But if i can have advice on cpu and gpu then its much appreciated. i linked a cpu and would like oppinons.

And i apologize for posting competitive links i didnt know it was agaisnt the rules.

CiT are a very budget brand, Xigmatek, Coolermaster, BitFenix etc. all offer cases for a few quid more that are much nicer.

The 4100 is a good CPU, I still think that the 5400k would be a better buy though, given the limited budget.

A second hand card would be best. Either a 460 or a 6850 , 7770. (As said previousily)

Any new card for £60 your looking at med settings best.

PSU wise, grab something from the likes of Corsair, OCZ, XFX, Antec etc, 400-500W will be plenty.

This is probably the most powerful card you could get for £60 right now...

None of the games you listed are at all that demanding, that card should sort your needs out.

And here's a Radeon 7750 with 2GB of memory on offer at the moment for £65...

Here's some bench's of it, compared next to a Radeon 7750....

Both those cards blow the 6670 you listed from amazon out the water!

If your building a new PC it might be worth asking for a 'Spec me a Gaming PC' putting down your budget, a lot of people here with a lot of experience will know how to get the most out of your budget, might be interesting for you to see how it compares against your own build! I mean for a start the CPU and MOBO combi you listed is for the old Bulldozer chips, you could get a similiar Piledriver chip and Mobo combi for the same price!

Sure Calum, you see that CPU and Motherboard combi you linked is for the AMD Quad Core FX 4170 Bulldozer chip. The Bulldozer's have been pretty much replaced with the Piledriver chips...

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-4 Quad Core 4300 3.80GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £94.99
1 x Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD 760G (Socket AM3+) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard £59.99
Total : £154.98 (includes shipping : FREE).

You see in that basket you have the AMD Piledriver FX-4 Quad Core 4300 3.80GHz chip, and the exact same board as in the one in the ebay link. The Piledriver might be clocked at 3.8ghz as opposed to the 4.2ghz of the Bulldozer chip, dont be put off by that there still faster and if you liked the idea of a little overclocking down the line the Piledriver chip can be overclocked past 4.2ghz easy.

If you really wanted to go that route may I suggest...

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-4 Quad Core 4300 3.80GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £94.99
1 x Gigabyte 970A-DS3 AMD 970A (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £59.99
Total : £154.98 (includes shipping : FREE).

The motherboard there is 10 times better. It has the 970 chipset as opposed to the 760G chipset. It has better feature's and overclocking ability. Of course the choice is yours, hope this helps you decide a little!

As to whether the Geforce 650 can play all the games you want at high settings it all depends on what resolution you will play at.

I like your choice of case btw, i've not seen many white case's around. How much do you have to spend on the CPU, Motherboard, Memory and PSU btw?

@ mad seven i have £30 - £60 for the psu and for mother board and cpu i have £100 - £150 so i can buy the piledriver and ram i want about 6gb of it but not sure how much it will be
