Need Help choosing a new display Monitor vs TV

Ive been using a 32" samsung led for the last 3 years.

I need help choosing a new display 27 inch or larger

ive looked at other forum to get info but i can understand it.

Im getting info like

Response time ?
Panel type ?
smaller and tighter pixels in monitors compared to tvs ?

Ive had a LG 27" monitor delivered today and i dont like it seams bit dark and the colours dont look right

Ive had a Philips a week ago colours and brightness was much better, but the whites and blacks looked odd.

Please help

Imo you should get a monitor as I find Tvs very difficult to use as pc monitors.

Whats your budget and what's the main purpose for the monitor/tv?

My budget is £200,
main purpose Main is watching movies mostly HD, Gaming games like skyrim, bioshock , general use ( internet, Office, paint ext)

+1

A monitor will give you a much better image than a TV.

I would say one of these, the widescreen ones may interest you for watching films etc

I've just had to lash on an Asus PB278Q
My two and a bit year old Hazro (HZ27WC) started going fuzzy and first few times switching it off and on again rectified the problem but a fortnight ago it wouldn't reset.

So I've tried messaging Hazro on their webmail asking for a return to base warranty claim and I've had no response to two requests.

It's a bit disappointing really put me off Hazro and since they don't have any phone numbers there seems to be little one can do to get them to honour their warranty.

Suggestions?
