Hi I recently was out taking photos at the top of a hill with my camera on a tripod . However it was not the best conditions for being out taking photos at the top of a hill and the wind blew over my tripod sending my tripod and camera smashing to the ground which broke the top mount and sent my camera rolling down the hill  . I then recovered the camera with a broken screen at the bottom of a small pool of water at the bottom of the hill . This is kind of good as i can now start looking for a new camera . Any suggestions Under £300 Maybe could go higher but lets leave it at that for right now . I use my camera for landscape photography and For photos of family with a bit of Video Capturing in between .

It was an S8100FD it is an old one but i really liked it but in the last 2or3 years cameras have really stepped up and i didnt have the heart to get rid of it while it worked :)

I'm guessing it was an obscure point and shoot then. :p

Depends on what you want, if you are happy with a bigger sized camera aka a DSLR then the Nikon D3100 can be had for around £300. If you want something smaller then there are a few high end compacts, with the Panasonic LX-7 being one of the best for around £350 for a grey import, I'll be ordering one myself soon with a view to downgrading from a DSLR!

Yeah it was , I have been having a look at DSLR's as i do a fair bit of film work but at the same time my landscape photography is more important and the interchangeable lens feature would be handy as i don't always need a massive tele photo lens on the end when im taking photos at family events ect as it might be a bit intimidating especially for my younger sisters and things so the D3100 is probably a good choice :)

Hmm will have a look at the D5100 :) But at the Same time and a bit random i kinda like the Samsung NX1000 which is a compact interchangeable lens camera which looks kinda nice
