Ok here goes,

I want to buy a new monitor for gaming and i can't decide what to get, i have boiled down my options to four possible candidates.

Acer G24 / Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP / NEC 24WMGX3 / HP LP2475W

I need some advice here on which way to swing because iv'e been ripping my hair out when trying to decide what to pick.

If you have any alternative monitors to recommend then please do, but they need to be 24" widescreen / High spec / Below £500.

;)

Acer g24, is a TN panel, what's it doing in your list lol.
DEll's got a M-PVA panel which ain't bad.
and the HP is got a H-IPS which ain't bad either.
but NEC's AVMA is simply better.

Hmm... the NEC seems to be favourable here, is it really that much better than the others?

I'm not that great with knowing whats the difference between TN / M-PVA / H-IPS / AVMA.

Wait a bit and get the new samsung when it comes back in stock, if it's a gaming monitor you are after then this is the one seeing as it does 120hz it's head and tails above anything else atm.

120hz isn't that much of a reason to buy a tft, unless you want to use 3D Vision.

Only worth it if you need to use vertical Sync to stop screen tearing.
The refesh rate won't make the response time any better.

It could double the number of ghost images you see. :P

NEC 24WMGX3 gets my vote too here !!! Its a good all around monitor, not just for gaming, but for pretty much everything. I've seen a review of it about its input lag and I am absolutely amazed !! It has same or less input lag than most monitors with a TN panel, yet, you still get the premium quality of a non-TN panel.
