Hi I have decided to buy a new gaming computer as my laptop has completely died on me.

Things to know:

I have no idea what so ever what computer to buy, I know very little about computer parts or what's better than what.

I am looking for a decent gaming computer to last quite a few years.

My price range is £800-1000, so I would be grateful if someone who knows a lot about gaming computers could just pick/build me something and I will buy it.

There is no point in picking me one and telling me to customise it as I have no idea what to get. So I would be very grateful if someone could just link a complete build for me please. Only extras I need is a monitor around 24 inches.

Thanks

i used to build gaming rigs for a living, have done so for 15+ years, now only do it for a hobby, it's hard to pick a spec for someone unless you know what they what it to do, what have you had in the past etc?

you want a 24" monitor, well thats fine and easy but takes £130 out of your budget straight away http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-174-SA&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

then you need to decide if you want a over clocked or none over clocked system?

with win7 home 64bit £708.01 inc VAT plus your monitor so under budget, for me i'd get a 2gb vga card but when you order you can change bits like that, they will tell you the price etc, even add more ram and take it to 16gb, will run most stuff on high and some games on ultra, all but the very latest, for those you would need to spend a bit more
