Hey,

I have no idea which components to buy for a medium rated pc. I'm using the NZXT Phantom case but i need help/pointed in the right direction to choose the ideal components for my needs. this is my first full build computer. i've done basic editing and changing components but i want to make my own home built computer.

My budget is about £700. could go over a little if needed. My needs are to run CAD programmes, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office and other programmes that i might need. I'm an architect student so i need something with a bit of a kick and something that won't break down on me or run really slow! I might need to run three of these programmes at the same time, maybe even four.

Help would be appreciated! looking through all the hardware is really confusing and i've no idea which is better or even by how much! I dont mind whether it's AMD or INTEL. Which ever would be better for what i need and also cheaper. If possible, manage to fit windows 7 into my budget as well , but if not then don't worry about it.

Many Thanks, CJ

Thanks :) Saves a lot of confussion! How can you tell which components are good with a Motherboard? Is there any real difference with AMD and INTEL? i read the how to choose your components thread but i'm still pretty confused with how to tell which product is better than another.

Also does this processor come with a cooling fan or will i need to purchase one in the near future?

Cool That sound great. Thanks very much! Would it be worth it investing in a better/more advanced motherboard for future upgrades?

i am a bit of a gamer but i normally just use my PS3 for that Because my other desktop Just got to old and slow! but it would prob be more of a works machine although i do enjoy designing computer games and website's :)

personally what do you think about the case i have bought? Is it worth it? i know it looks smart wich is one of the reasons why i bought it, but also because it had plenty, Easy access, Hard drive spaces and lot's of room for expanding.

What cases or features of a case would you look for and is there really any difference to keep and eye out for or are they pretty much able to take all hardware components?

I know there are different tower sizes, but is full tower really better?

well thank you for your honesty :)

Sorry to pester you but due to the fact that i might be running my computer for a long period of time possibly using 2/3/4 programmes at once, would it be worth investing in either the corsair h50/h70? or would i not really need anything like that?
