Alright guys. Im doing my first PC build and have spent the last couple of months working and researching what i wanted to get. I have all of it, but im worried that the psu i bought might under perform. Spec so far:
i5 3750K stock speed (may overclock in future)
asrock z77e-mini itx motherboard
corsair h60 cpu cooler
corsair vengence 8 gig (2x4gig)
evga 660ti superclocked
seagate baracuda 1tb sata hardrive
bitfenix prodigy case
and some random dvd writer my mate gave me!

the psu i brought was coolermaster gx 550W. several psu calculators online have told me this should be sufficient, but i know that more can hardly hurt. i was thinking of maybe returning it and getting the gx 750W or corsair cx600, but wanted to know what you guys think.

ps, these forums are awsome, read so much stuff on here just never posted before. be nice!

I would say return you PSU and get a better one, it may be more than what you need now,but if you want to upgrade in the future, you will have the option to

yeah you think? how about if i wanted to do some minor overclocking? nothing mad. and yeah wish i had got some but the vengence sticks i got are the original high profile ones lol its all good though everything fits nice in my case, just needs wiring up, they were on offer with my motherboard so couldnt say no.

550 is ok but CM gx has quite noticeable ripple on load. Not the best design out there. Worth considering corsair hx series 450-650, tx 650( not cx nor gs), xfx core edition, or cm silent pro modular and more but be careful with the manufacturer, e.g. Corsair cx gs are made by channel well and CM gx made by seventeam etc. the closest in price to gx550 would be xfx core 550. They both have similar output ~530w on 12v but xfx is a rebedged seasonic, better value.
