my GF brought me a Cosmos S case for xmas so i need to start building my new pc, ive been using laptops for many years, in fact the last pc i put togather was a K6-2 333MHZ thing back in 2000, lol, anyways i have around 800 ish to spend and need a monitor in the price if possible,

also forgot to say i dont need a video card or hard drive as i already have these.

thanks,

Richard

ive got a ATI HD 3650 512mb for now, one of the guys at work as offered to sell me two 8800gtx cheap, so that maybe an option, the only games i really play are command and command and flight sim so i dont want to be spending 100's on a video card yet.

Think you might strugle to get a monitor in that price too!
i7 920 - £250
ASUS P6T X58 - £250
Memory - +£100 (depends if you want 3gb or 6gb(£200))
PSU - around £100
Leaves £100 for either upgrades/better parts or bits and bobs (e.g.dvd/blu ray, mouse, keyboard, case fans, fan controller)

Could get the hyundai 22" which is £130 but its a bt tight!

is the hyundai 22 any good? i like the look of the spec, think i will just pick up a cheap dvd-rw,

is it worth upgrading the motherboard to a Asus Rampage II Extreme ?

I dont know about the monitor either wait and see if another member replies or check out some reviews. I doubt you would notice the difference in the boards unless you are pushing/overclocking the parts in your system to the max! Better spending the money on better/more ram!

Btw what are your hdds like (im guessing they're sata)? Worth getting a samsung f1 320 for the primary hdd?

i have a 100gb sata drive which i was going to use untill next payday and a 2tb WD My Book Studio for saving files.
