Need help cooling

So I recently upgraded my build;

Everything is fine, everything stays cool except the GPU. It reached 97C yesterday after playing payday 2 for a few hours.

Does anybody have any idea on how to keep the GPU cool? I know I need a few more fans in the case, but is there anything than can specifically target the GPU.

Also, my case sits on the floor. Would it be best off raising it slightly off the ground (a few inches) and putting a few fans in the bottom?

Looking nice..

A few things that may help..

Have you set a fan profile for your GPU?

Before i set a fan profile (using MSI afterburner) my card fan only ran at 40% (standard) even under load.. Adjusting this should cut your temps a bit..

Has your case only got that one fan? Where is it positioned.

I would suggest having atleast 3 fans, two intake, one exhaust. The Exhaust should go at the back and the intakes can either be front/roof (1 on each may be good)..
 
as doom says a good positioning of fans will help, your case can support 2x120mm on the front and 2 in the top so even 2 on the bottom so you have a lot of cooling options just make sure you either get a fan cantroler or buy the wright fan pin config for your mobo and control them using Bios or speed fan

Thanks.

I noticed the fan profile was set to 20%, and it must have reached a fail safe limit so the pc turned off (didn't realise it was 20% at the time, hadnt changed anything). I then set it auto and it still reaches about 90C, but the fan doesnt seem to increase when it needs to. You would expect 'Auto' to increase the fan when the GPU gets hot, but when I select the fan to be at 80% it is very fast, auto never makes it that fast.

I will definitely invest in a few more fans for front and top. I may need to switch the back fan around, as it could be pulling air in.

If you use the fan profile on afterburner you can select a fan speed depending on how hot the GPU gets..

I have mine something like.. 40% upto 50C, 50% upto 65C, 60% above...

This cuts down on noise and temps. :D

If you only fan is at the back ATM, i guess it's fine pulling air in but you really you want front to back airflow being topped up from the top. :D
 
Thanks for that program, I will get that.

I have a spare fan ( a second of what I already have) but I miss-placed the screws. Just need to find some others that fit it.
