Ok so I have just got a new system last week, the specs are as follows:-

Windows 7 Profesional
Intel I7 5930k CPU
16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 4 RAM
ASUS X-99 Deluxe Motherboard
ATI Radeon R9 290x Sapphire Vapour-X 8GB GPU
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Western Digital Black 2TB HDD
Corsair RM1000 Platinum PSU
NZXT Kraken X61 AIO CPU Cooler

I am having an issue where the computer cuts out during initial boot up, it keeps trying to boot up and failing all the time over and over again. The motherboard has a Q_CODE LED that cycles through some numbers during this boot phase (I'll put these below along with there meanings) but looking through the manual, none of the codes seem to represent an actual fault of any kind. I am able to get the computer to boot up but I have to hold down the power button during the failed boots to stop the sequence and then start it up again and it works most of the time. I don't seem to get any overclocking error's so I don't think that is the issue however I have only overclocked the chip to a very stable 4.2gHz so that shouldn't be a problem anyway.

If any of you guys can think of what could be going wrong I would greatly appreciate it.

The codes I am getting are below:-

25 - This code is not in the manual
60 - DXE Core is started
61 - NVRAM Initialisation
19 - Pre-Memory PCH Initialisation is started
00 - Not Used (this is the one it stops on before the computer cuts out)

There is at least one other number but it flashes by so fast I am unable to determine what it is and 19 is just a guess because that flashes by really fast as well.

Thanks.

Have you tried updating to the latest bios? I believe that board has USB Flashback so you don't even need to be able to enter the bios. Just follow the instructions in the manual.

I believe that the board shipped with the latest version of the BIOS, 1004 IIRC. At least that's what the guy in the computer store told me. Is that the right version?

[EDIT] - OK so I've read another forum post and it says that the newer BIOS version is out (1203). Does anyone know if this one is more stable than 1004?

1305 is actually the latest version. The last three updates have all been for improving stability. You can download it from here. Asus has released boards in the past with flakey bios's but they eventually get there after 3-4 releases. I would download it and flash it using EZ-Flash if you can get into the bios or usb flashback if you can't.

Check all connections, especially RAM
Test
Unplug pc from wall and remove battery, leave for 30mins
Test

Usually it is the last debug number, which in your case is 61 and NVram can mean a corrupt bios. Does your board have 2 bios's?? If so switch to the other, if not use usb flashback or if you haven't been pushing the overclocks, especially RAM, i would be inclined to RMA the board as you may have a dodgy ROM chip. MY RVE had to be returned because of this.

Thanks for the help guys. I have had the computer in the shop since Monday and I am gonna RMA the board and get the ASRock Fatality one instead as this is already my second ASUS X-99 Deluxe that I have had to RMA and the engineer is getting ****ed off with it. Hopefully it should be here next Monday. I can live with this problem for 3 more days.
