This is really annoying me. I want two more DVD racks (each holding 50 DVDs) and I want to buy it on the high street somewhere in Southampton. My needs are simple. Cheap and cheerful, something like this: Argos

Argos don't have any stock in Southampton, otherwise I'd have already bought some. Ikea is a let down and I don't know where else to look. I've been to teh city centre twice now without result :(

Have you tried the likes of Homebase (owned by the same parent company, often similar stock under different names), B&Q (especially larger ones), or FOCUS if there is still one open?

I think even Tesco's, ASDA, Aldi, and Morrisons have them in from time to time.

The chances are as you're looking for it none of them will have them in, something that always seems to be the way when I go looking for a particular item...

B&Q will probably depend on how big your local is, around here they vary from fairly small mainly hardware/wood, to absolutely huge with a variety of things like TV stands/brackets and storage boxes/units.

I suspect the wire frame DVD racks are probably "out of fashion" as a couple of years ago it seemed they were everywhere.
Woolies used to always have them in, but that's not much help I suspect.

Probably more than you want to spend, but I recommend this.

I have three of them

It''s not visible in the picture but there are four rows of CDs below the DVDs.
DVDs, CDs and other assorted junk not included:p

I have one very similar to the one in that Argos link that you could have off me if you collected it?
Will attack you on MSN!

Looks nice, but I wouldn't have the space for it.

Remember there's three of them side by side in my picture. One of them is narrower than two of your metal racks side by side, but the beech rack is twice as tall.

I chose them because of their height which is about the same as a standard door frame. I can maximise storage space whilst minimising the amount of floor space used. Also because of the open flat shelves I can put non-standard width DVD box sets into it and it's easier to shift the contents about so I can insert a new DVD or CD in (roughly) alphabetical order.

Argos does an Oak version (middle in my picture), but don't get this one. Unlike the beech versions the vertical panels are made in two halves instead of just one long piece.
