Basically im a HNC electronic/electrical student and its time to do some assignments etc.

One of my modules covers pneumatics. I have to design a solution to some problems. I thought it would look better if i designed the solution on a pc and printed it out.

Are there any programs out there that simulate pneumatics etc?

There are many electrical programs out there such as electronic worbench, crocodile clips etc.

Any pneumatic technicians/engineers recommend some decent programs?

Cheers

Can't you just create the appropriate symbols in paint or something?
I can't see you investing in autocad or similar for this assignment and I would imagine they want a schematic not a photgraphic rendering.

yes schematic, also if it can simulate what ive designed that would be great, so it can prove what i have built is correct.

Certain programs like field simulators would work as the ones Ive used before also simulate fluid flow. The only problem is that they tend to be hard to understand how to use them properly, how to set up the mesh properly and to get what you want from the results.

It would be more simpler if you drew a diagram/schematic as Virii suggested and use the maths to prove the design. I dont know of any specific programs that you can use as its not my line of work.

How about doing it in flash or similar then? I think it is a tad ott for your assignment needs though. Remember you don't want to over engineer things if you become an engineer because it costs more cash than it needs to.
Simple solutions are often the most elegant.

try using abaqus? or however the crazy kids spell it

For pnumatics?

Abaqus is a structural program I have on my pc now, its not that good, use Patran or Nastran.

KaHn

/ninja,

As viiri has said, if you can make it simple dont feel thick, just do it, if it works then thats the main idea.

sorry for the confusion but all the programs that were recommended seem difficult to use.

All i want is a simulation program, simple terms with 3/2 way ports, couple of cylinders etc etc. Schematic diagram.

For example the electronic program i use is crocadile clips or electronics workbench, are there programs out there for pneumatic needs etc?
