Having a nightmare of a time at the moment trying to find work in hull. Its filled with administration jobs and telesales positions which seriously dont interest me and I cant hold either of these jobs down due to them being completely crap for me.

Id love to do something which interests me and has a natural progression like research and IT jobs. Im not the worlds most experiences guy nor do I have the worlds best qualifications (good GCSE's mostly) but surely theres more for me out there than low wage crap office jobs?.

Sadly my search is a dire one as well. My relationship with my mother is deteriorating everyday even though I am trying damn hard to find work. Financially im fine but my mother views me as a failure to the family and is threatening me with kicking me out and leaving me with nothing (nice family eh lol).

Any advice or possible heads up in the Hull area would be greatly appretiated but dont try and "fix" my family situation please. Its gone beyond the point of no return now :(

I check the job centre website, monster.co.uk and thisishull webbys everyday but like ive already mentioned, they are filled with agencies offering admin jobs which seriously dont interest me. Im pretty good around computers, understand nearly every piece of microsoft software available due to BETA testing everything a few years back. Ive got sales experience both face to face and over the phone, plus the same with buying items for stock etc.

Please help before my life goes down the pipe completely

What you may have to do for the moment is find a job - any job, and keep looking for one best suited for you. At least you'd have money coming in.

How old are you out of interest?

Surely you could just take one of the admin type jobs until something more suitable comes up?

Have you considered moving elsewhere? This will probably sound ignorant coming from a person who's never been to hull but I get the general impression that it's one of Britains less 'opportune' areas. If you look for jobs elsewhere you will greatly increase your chances of finding a job you will enjoy.

Thats true but then I encounter even greater hurdles to overcome. First time single house buyer = ouch on the mortgauge. Hull, opportunity wise is dead. Nothing happens here and its mostly filled with small companies which are all beating on the same conartist sales drum.

-westy- = i would if I could stomach it mate. Having worked at places where these jobs exist ive seen first hand how much admin people get walked over and id only consider it if I was ultimately forced to financially.

I started this thread out of the complete dispair which my life is in at the moment but even if you guys but the obvious down, I might not have seen it due to being so damn stressed lately.

Anyone got an recommendations on websites and/or agencies etc which I put me on square 1?
