need help finding a quality lappy that weighs under 2kg

got a mate trying to get hold of a laptop, problem is hes in the army, stationed and cannot get delivery.

from what i;ve been told he can get a delivery from the army if the package is 2kg or UNDER anyone know if there are any decent/quality laptops for that weight ?

Trouble is - the average weight of a laptop is around the 2Kg mark, the fact that you will have to package it up very well will mean you have much less.

Why dont you get a customizable laptop and take the parts out and send them boxed separately. It will remove a lot of weight.

Lenovo ThinkPad X61s.

They are about 1.3kg.

Just taking out the battery and hard drive would be enougth on most, its a good suggestion.

the battery makes up for most of the weight of the laptop

Theres a new Toshiba that weighs less than 2KG, 2 secs ill find the model number.

The obvious choice is the Sony SZ series, about 1.7KG and I would think the quickest machine you could get for less then 2KG
