My PC is stuck in an endless cycle, it boots up then blue screens and reboots. Boots up, blue screens, reboots etc etc etc.

The reason? I install Active Virus Shield which doesn't support vista (didnt tell me that until after I had installed it

Common sense would say boot into safe mode and just uninstall it. Well no, you can't uninstall programs in safe mode cos the stupid "Windows Installer service is not accessible". Ive tried stopping it from starting via the registery, stopping its service in computer management and even renaming its install directory so that I can boot up and get rid of the damn thing but nothing makes any difference.

So any ideas guys?

Use Last Known Good Config on the F8 boot screen. This will prevent the newly installed device driver from loading.
