Need Help for windows 8 driver for Dell laptop with AMD ATI Mobility HD 4570

Family member just updated their Dell Studio Laptop (about 18 months old) from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

Windows 8 deleted driver saying that it was incompatible with Windows 8.

Now they can't play minecraft without a recognisable driver.

Where can I get an AMD Driver for the HD 4570 card in the Dell Studio Laptop that wiil allow minecraft to run???

It does not appear to be as easy as going to the amd website and downloading the latest drivers.

Not too sure what model of Studio you have.

I believe ati dropped support for the hd4XXX with one of the 12.something versions of catalyst and therefore the cards are not supported in windows 8. I had a similar probably when trying windows 8 on my laptop which runs a 4250.

However I may be wrong, if you find a fix plz let us know

I have a 4250 in my laptop and had no problems (the upgrade advisor said it was compatible).

During the upgrade, it should have installed the correct windows 8 compatible drivers for the GPU and there's a windows 8 driver for the 4XXX series being offered by AMD.

12.6 driver is the latest Catalyst for the 4xxx series. AMD have moved it to the 'legacy' section. Not tried W8 on my Studio 15 yet so will have to keep an eye out for this...
