I wondered if anyone can help me clock my ram to its advertised speed. I'm a bit of a newbie, so go easy on me.

I have a Asus PRIME B450M-K Motherboard, a Ryzen 5 2600X and 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200. The motherboard is advertised to be able to handle up to 3200mhz ram, hence why I bought it.

Within the BIOS, if I try to set it as D.O.C.P., I get all sorts of blue screen issues. I've tried upping the voltage to 1.4 and it fairs better, but it still crashes when gaming etc. I've also tried setting it as D.O.C.P then turning down the ram to 2933mhz and still have issues.

I'm a bit at a loss as I'm not sure what else to set the settings to to get the most out of the ram.

If I turn everything back to auto (which sets the ram to default of 23something mhz), everything works fine.

Any ideas?

Hi Apone70, yes I upgraded this morning to the latest version. It was better after that but still had memory issues.

I dropped it down to 2933 and I was still getting the blue screen ram issue and various games crashing etc.

Start with "Safe" timings at 3200 and if you can get those working then focus on tightening that with the "Fast" timings. If you cant get 3200 working you may have to drop it a bit.

While 3200 is probably the sweet spot for Ryzen if you can only get 3000 you are not likely to notice, will literally be a few FPS difference.

Hi Fellas

Quick update. I tried to set the times etc on my bios last night but was occurring a few issues, which I detail below.

- I couldn't find 'CAD_BUS Block' at all in the bios. Link
- Trfc, Trfc2, Trfc4, if I set anything else it resets it to 60. Link
- SOC Voltage, I can only select auto or offset mode, I can't input value directly. Link
- Some of the settings have a min/rec/max or rec/alt1/alt2, but I can only enter one value. Link
- The memory (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16) isn't listed on the QVL for the motherboard, but similar ram is (eg. CMK16GX4M2B3600C18). Link

Any ideas?

Dont worry about cad_bus for now, some boards just dont unlock some settings in the bios. (May be buried deep somewhere)
Only set Trfc, ignore the others.
Use the recommended setting first, the alternatives are if those dont work.
Wouldnt worry about the QVL.
SOC - In the box that has auto/offset can you not type into that or select manual?

Thanks

Only set Trfc, ignore the others.
When I set Trfc, I can type in the value from the ram calculator but as soon as I clicked out it would set the value to 60.
SOC - In the box that has auto/offset can you not type into that or select manual?
There is no manual, I couldn't type into auto, but I'll try again, maybe I messed that up.

Yep, but I'll try again later and confirm.

By the way, should I first set it to DOCP and then edit or just edit from defaults?

Why you using Debug instead
of V1 in profile version?

Maybe run typhoon to check what type of ram it is,don't. Think it is B-die but. Could be wrong

Try an offset of +0.08 to +0.15v of the SOC voltage, and set CPU and SOC LLC (load-line calibration) to level 3 or 4, and set CPU/SOC power phases to optimised. Set RAM voltage to 1.37v, really shouldn't need more than that. Chuck the current limits to 120 or 130% for both as well.

Give the memory controller a bit of assistance!
