Hi, i'm trying to help a freind with some upgrades and i need to know what motherboard he has.

I have extracted this information from CPU-Z, i hope that the experts will be able to tell me if this motherboard supports core 2 duo.

Name Intel Pentium 4 641
Package Socket 775 LGA
Core Speed 3200.0 MHz

Model D495GTP
Chipset Intel
Southbridge Intel
LPCIO SMSC
Link Width x16 Max Supported x16

Type DDR2 Channels No. Dual
Size 1024MB
DRAM Frequency 266.7 MHz

I take it you mean D945GTP?

Some 945 boards support the 65nm C2D's. Probably depends on whether you can get a BIOS upgrade for it.

The actual model name should be printed on board somewhere.

probably a typo on my friends part. All it says in CPU-Z is the model number i supplied above, but i don't really want to pay him a visit to open up his computer lol. If i find out the chipsets will it help at all?

The chipset will be a 945G, it's the board manufacturer that is important because it's the place you'll get your BIOS updates from and pretty much all the information you need on the board. The D945GTP as a reference board from Intel though is here.
