Need Help In Respecing - In Time For Intel's Price Drop!

Hey Guys,

As the title suggests I currently have an AMD setup, which I am going to change when Intel reduce the price on there quad core processors. I am looking at getting the entry level Q6600 as it seems it will be an acceptable price.

I therefore need some help in deciding on what motherboard to purchase, I currently have an Asus Deluxe, but have no real preference, as long is it is stable and reliable.

I currently have OCZ 2gb of ram, do I need to change this?

I am fairly new to PC building, hence some of the noobish questions, apologises for that.

I am also new to overclocking, but would like to overclock the system, or at least have the ability to overclock it, as I gain more understanding.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

Do not really want to spend over £500.00 if possible. The socket of my mobo is AM2.

Memory values as follows:

Speed XMS2-6400
Latency 5-5-5-12

I am not at home atm so hopefully the above information is what you require.

I use the PC for gaming and have a 8000GTX card.

I will be purchasing these items in a few weeks, if that is when the prices drop on OCUK

Check in processor forum, for the price drop date, tis around July 22nd..
