I was think I would have to use a USB with an ISO but don't really know how to set this up and where I would get an ISO from
need help installing windows 7 onto a Laptop with no DVD drive

1. Put your key into here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows7 and download the iso you need
2. Plug in the USB drive, download and run Rufus from here: https://rufus.akeo.ie/ - change from freedos image to iso image and select the iso file for Windows 7 you downloaded earlier and press start.
3. Safely eject drive from your machine, plug it into the laptop needing windows 7 and boot from usb drive in the boot selection menu (you normally F9, F11 or F12 when switching on)

I tend to still use the Windows 7 USB Tool, even with Windows 10 ISOs, but Rufus is good too.
