Need HELP!!!!! My computer wont recognise my new hardware

installed a new 300GB harddrive and it appars in device managet but not my computer? any ideas

You might have to format it - Right Click My Computer - Manage - Disk Management.

You need to format it in disk management, they cannot be viewed in my computer without partitions.

alternatively....

Right Click My Computer - Manage - Disk Management- Storage and then "Activate"

If you open up my computer and dont see the drive there you have to activate it....if you see it in my computer then you need to format it.....
