attempting to build my system, been a bit of a struggle thus far but at the point where im trying a basic boot up with just cpu + heatsink, ram, gpu and mobo all seated.

Everything spins and lights up but its just not displaying on my Lg 19", which is connected via a dvi to vga dongle thing.

I have an e8400
corsair 4gb
Sapphire 4850
ASUS P5QL PRO iP43 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard

Its an Ami Bios and theres a single, short, beap when it starts and then another short beap 20 ~ seconds later. Looking in the mobo manual it says for one short beap: vga detected
-quick boot set to disabled
-no keyboard detected ( there was one connected)

Have tried reseating the graphics card but to no avail.

Starting to worry, could use some help! cheers in advance

EDIT: have tested the monitor using my laptop and it works fine

this maybe a long shot but open your case and look at the mobo when its powered up, see if it stops at a certain state, there should be a 2 digit redout which may stop on a certain code for example, this could indicate a problem.

this happened for me a few days ago and it turned out the code which was 7F means user input required, i hit F1 windowns loaded as i could hear it, unplugged my monitor plugged it back in (cdont know why i did this lol) rebootoed and it powered up the montor taking me to a bios screen which was Floppy disk fail, disabled the floppy in the bios and computer has worked fine since.

forgive my ignorance, but doesnt there need to be something displayed for all of that to take place?
