Hello All,

I'm looking to buy my first ever laptop, I'm a gamer and will be replaceing my desktop I've found the below spec is it any good for all new games and at the price point of £749,99

Processor - Intel Core i7-2670QM (2.2GHz/3.1GHz)
Ram - 6GB DDR3 RAM (8GB max)
Storage Capacity - 640GB
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Screen Display - 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080P) LED Screen
Optical Drive - DVD-SM/Blu-Ray Reader & Writer
Graphics - NVidia GT 555 (2GB dedicated Graphics)
Network Connections - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0,
Input/Output - 2x USB 3.0, HDMI, 2MP Webcam

The laptop will play most up to date games ie. BF3, MW3 & Skyrim etc smoothly at High settings at a resolution of 1280 x1024 but not at its native resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Older games like Dead Space II/Need for Speed Pursuit will play at Higher Settings at its native resolution. :)

Ahh, for the same price I can get the same Laptop but with a 1600x900 res screen, would I be better goin for that one to get the best out of all games?

Many Thanks

I would have hoped the laptop company you are looking at would give you the same laptop with the lower screen resolution at a lower price.:eek:

Regarding resolutions, depends on how important Hi Def in other things is to you ie.movies,as you can get the full 1080P out of the 1920x1080 panel but only 720P out of the 1600x900 panel.

"Guys in purple shirts" Oh dear!

That answers why they are charging the same price for a lower spec laptop!
