Recently bought a new PC and im looking to overclock it and i thought here would be a good place to ask
Right my PC spec is:
AMD AM2 Athlon 64 4200+ X2 Windsor @ 1.35v - Running at 31C / 29C idle - Runs 34 C / 31 C when OC'd @ 2.4ghz
Abit KN9-S Socket nF550 AM2 PCI-E 16x / DUAL CH DDR2 / 7.1CH AUDIO /
SATA(II) RAID / Gb LAN / ATX MOTHERBOARD
EVGA GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB GDDR3 HDTV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Running 40C idle
Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x512MB) @ 1.80v - Timings can go to 5 - 5 - 5 - 12 but are at 5 - 5 - 5 - 18
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 17 160GB 6G160E0 SATA-II 8MB Cache
Problem is I can overclock my 4200+ to 2.4ghz with fsb at 219x11 but 90% the time it won't get past the post screen and I have to keep rebooting it but once it does get past the post screen it will load into windows and run fine. Also I can't lower the timings of my memory to 5 - 5 - 5 - 12 without the monitor either not coming on or it won't get past the post screen at all, lowest i got them were 5 - 5 - 5 - 14. I think the problem is the voltages but i dont wanna mess around with them too much without asking someone who knows what they doing which is why i've posted on here lol
