Okay i have a abit fatality Fp-IN9 SLi board from oc

i have 2 hdds 320 gig each western digital.. both exactley the same

both hdds are healthy and both format and work fine on there own

i have gone into bios

set them up as raid on sata port 1 and 2...

gone into the nvidia raid array.. set them up as array 0 (stripping)

then saved that and rebooted loaded into the vista install screen...

set up the partition, no worries, formated....

so then it goes into the windows install

gets to expanded files

and then it goes to pot

sometimes at 23% others at 50% sometimes even at 90%

it just stops and comes up with an error saying

cannot read install files, please check your disks and make sure all wires are connected... then it gives an error code and then just hangs

now i have 3 cdroms 2 which are sata and 1 which is ide and it does the same with all 3

i can install vista onto 1 drive no problem at all, but it does not seem to like the raid configuration

am i doing anything wrong ??? am i missing something ?? any advice would be appreciated :)

yup as stable as you like

i loaded vista 3 times now onto 1 drive and then went into format in vista and formated the other drive to work fine as well

but when ever i raid them... it goes to pot

going to find me a floppy drive tommorrow and try raid on xp

but for now id like to know why vista is playing silly buggers

Google it ? :

Cant post the thread in complete but heres what I found.

Snip

" We have recieved both IN9-SLI and F-190HDs today. I checked the CD on IN9-SLi and cant find any Vista drivers there, however when i checked on Nvidia's website, chipset drivers for 650i SLI are available for both Vista 32bit and 64bit and also sound drivers for the board can also be downloaded from Realtek's website for Vistas. "

well i was going to try hardware problems like ram etc but thats ruled that out. load it in to xp tomorrow and see if that works, if it does you can rule out the raid controller being buggered. prob just silly vista incompatability. sorry for telling you what you already know.

 Dont give up yet mate the night is still young ;)

I've only installed vista once before whipping the sh** off my disk. I just cant remember if it allows for supplementary drivers as windows XP does before it starts the install.

well im currently setting up raid on XP

everything seems to be going well

so if this works, i can only assume there is a few issues with the board/bios/vista

oh happy days :)
