Looking at 780ti, Asus version I think, along with an i7 cpu.

My Current Build:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Power supply: Corsair TX550M
Ram: DDR3 8GB Dual
GPU: Nvidia Gtx 670
CPU: i5 3570K 3.40GHz
Case: NZXT Phantom 410

Looking to run for example Watch Dogs on ultra.

Currently looking at:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus GeForce GTX 780Ti DirectCUII OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £551.99
1 x Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £239.99
1 x Alpenföhn Brocken CPU Cooler £32.99
Total : £834.56 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Would be great to know what I need and whether would like to know what components would need to be upgraded like motherboard, ram or power supply in order to run those and weather it will be capable of running watch dogs on ultra, i think the cpu is correct not sure.

Also I have ordered an Oculus Rift DevKit 2, and would hope to achieve best results on that, running games at highest.
Thank you

The CPU won't fit in your motherboard - it's a 2011 socket and your motherboard supports 1155. The GPU is fine though.

Your current CPU is fine, but get yourself a decent cooler and over-clock it.

I would say keep your current cpu and see how you go on with the new graphics card. The i5 3570K is still a very good cpu (I have one myself)

What case do you have ? As you would need to make sure that the cooler will fit. Also do you know if your current ram is low profile or not ? as some coolers block the ram slots, and if your ram isn't low profile it won't fit underneath the cooler.

Thats the current ram I have, plus added the case.

Personally you'd see no benefit from upgrading from an IB i5 to i7 or even to Haswell comes to think of it... it won't hardly push any more cycles to the GPU than you already have.

Might be worth waiting a few weeks seeing what the new haswell revision has to offer but even that will be a minor boost to what you have already. intel have gone back to using a solder based solution for the IHS which will result in cooler operation so you might get a better overclock but you'll need a new motherboard.

If you want to push your IB further, and you'r feeling brave.. then it might be worth de-lidding the IB IHS and replacing.

Ok so I can stick with my current processor and overclock it along with a new cooler,
can I do that without a new motherboard yes?
