my system comprises of asus p5q pro, intel e8500,4gb kingston hyper 8500,titan fenrir cpu cooler, antec 1200 and saphire hd 4670.my dream is to achieve a minimm clock speed of 4.5ghz
can someone post me thier cpu and memory clock settings so i can do the same on mine.thanks in advance.

(off topic, the titan fenrir cpu cooler is amazing, my cpu temp is shuttling between 19-20 degrees at the moment)

Firstly one persons settings dont necessarily work for anothers, each chip is different and as such performs differently
Secondly a minimum speed of 4.5 is living in dream world tbh, you should be able to get 4, but getting 4.5 will be both lucky and require a lot of work

of course you can achieve 4.5ghz.a lot people have done so in this forum.i'm just looking for a short cut thats all.(i hope you are not jealous of my system tho lol)

It doesn't work like that nuku, just because one persons e8500 can reach 4.5 doesn't necessarily mean yours will, each chip is different and you need to follow the slow process of overclocking and testing in stages.

Taking short cuts your more likely to just fry your chip.

i have tried everything humanly possible and spent all day trying to achieve 4.5ghz on my e8500 but have proved impossible.the best i can get is 4.14ghz with 1.4v although my cpu temp is 26degrees idle and 32 degrees load
i am begining to wonder whether some people may have slightly exergerated their overclocking speed of 4.5ghz

No, as stated different chips get different results, and tbh 4GHz plus is good result and you dont need any more anyway. 32degress load? you living in a freezer? what sort of load? if thats after running IBT for 10mins then you must be in a freezer

What are you using to monitor your CPU temps? They seem very low.

Not sure how far you can push that chip on voltage but i think you have got quite a lot out of it and some chips just wont clock as far as others so it wouldn't surprise me at all if some have got to 4.5 and yours cant.

im using titan fenrir cpu cooler.i am amazed at the cpu temperature myself.i used to get 53 idle and 61 load on my artic freezer cooler.i am using asus aisuite monitor
