Hi,

I was hoping that someone here would know what could be wrong with my computer.

Here is a picture of my screen when the problem starts -

When i try to start the pc up, it will go through the window loading screen, and i will get all the way to the desktop. As the dektop starts to load up a bubble with "Samsung" appears. The only thing for my Pc that is Samsung related is my monitor.
After that bubble vanishes as the desktop is still loading up a "Found New Hardware" screen appears, then the dekstop crashes to the above screenshot.
It appears as if the whole computer crashes as the screen flickers away, im guessing this becauase the LCD screen on my keyboard stops loading and stays on the Logiteh screen.

A month ago i had a problem with one of my graphics cards that was running in SLi, it was my XFX 7800 Gt 256mb. I removed this and the problem stopped. I put it back in yesterday and the computer was fine as i played Battlefield 2, then i switched it on this morning and this problem has happened. So i removed what i thought was the problem (XFX 7800Gt), but the problem is still here.
I am currentley running the pc on a AMD 3800 X2 (all overclocks turned off), Asus A8N SLi Premium, 2gb Corsair XMS2 and BFG 7800 Gt 256mb.

Does anyone know what could be causing the screen to crash like this?

Many thanks

have you tried the pc on a different screen? maybe the computers resolution isnt right or maybe its set at the wrong hertz.

hope it helps

Im having problems getting hold of a monitor. Is there any other problems that anyone can think of that are causing the screen to do this. I usually have a few ideas about the computer when something goes wrong. But im completely stumped

May have to build a new rig soon :D

Looks like wrong resolution to me. Can't think of anything else.
Can you try running it in safemode with basic graphic settings and check if it works ?

I will try booting up in safe mode today. I understand that the monitor might not support a certain Resolution.

But would this cause the whole pc to freeze at the same time?

This may sound like a silly question that is probably really simple. How do i get my pc to boot up in safe mode?

The only time i have done it before is when the pc has not been shut down properly. Then it automatically asks me.

Edit - Managed to get it into Safe mode, im on the desktop, and it has not crashed yet. Could this point to a problem with the monitor and resolution.
