Hey Guys,

I bought and built my pc 2 months ago wasn't really any problems for the first month or so.

It suddenly would randomly just freeze and then i would have to reset it then it would be fine again.

Last night it did the same and now the power boots up and then it cuts out after approximately 30 seconds (with no display coming up either).

Ive tried taking out 4 of the 8 gig worth of ram and using the other 4 and makes no difference.

If it helps my Spec is:

AMD x6 1090T
Asus Crosshair IV Mobo
8GB Dominator 1600 Mhz
HD5970
1200W Coolermaster Silent Pro
OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB
2x Samsung F4 2TB
Megahalems and 1x Asaka Viper fan (did have 2 but decided to take 1 off as i havent had the need to OC my cpu.)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Mehmet

Can you test another Graphics card or try it with the onboard? After that I would be inclined to look at the PSU in which case can you test another one or check your existing one with a Multimeter? There's a guide here.

As you've already tried the RAM, I'd check the power supply next.

If you have a spare one anywhere try that instead or, as Phil suggests, check it with a multimeter.

Tried using a different graphics card and it did boot up an image and found a problem saying that there was an error with the cpu fan so removed that and now no image will boot up even with the other graphics card. sigh such effort to maintain a pc lol

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

What was the error relating to the CPU fan? Probably just running slower than the BIOS expects and thus this will throw up an error which can usually be ignored by pressing one of the function keys. When you say 'there was an error with the cpu fan so removed that' what do you mean? You didn't remove the CPU fan did you?

yeah i did remove the cpu fan not the cpu heatsink itself

the error was only up for about 10 seconds before it shut down again. I cant get any display up again now.

Ok just done so and it has booted up a display saying "USB Device Over Current Status Detected!!! System Will Shut Down in 15 Seconds"

my friend just came home and told me to try removing one of the USB expansions and it appears to be working now :\ so odd.. thanks guys for helping tho ! :)
